Data policy
This page explains where the catalogue's data comes from, how it is verified, what we store and don't store, and how a manufacturer can have a record corrected or removed.
Where the data comes from
Every product and manufacturer record is compiled from the manufacturer's own publicly published documentation — catalogues, datasheets and product pages on their official websites. We do not buy data and we do not copy from competitors or third-party shops.
How it is verified
- Each record carries one or more source links and a last-verified date, shown on the page.
- Records are written by an AI agent and pass automated schema and source validationbefore publishing — nothing is published without a citation.
- Parameters are normalised into a single controlled vocabulary so the same spec means the same thing across brands.
What we store — and what we don't
- Stored: product and company names, technical specifications and parameters, descriptions, categories, source links and verification dates.
- Not stored: prices (they vary by region, distributor and time) and product images (they belong to the manufacturers). The only images on the site are manufacturer logos, shown for identification.
Cookies & analytics
The site uses no cookies by default. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics (a single set of analytics cookies) so we can see — in aggregate — how the catalogue is used and what to improve. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell or share this data. If you click Decline(or do nothing), no analytics and no analytics cookies are loaded. You can change your mind any time by clearing the site's storage in your browser.
Automated-access and AI rules
We respect each site's access rules. If a manufacturer's robots.txt disallows automated or AI access, or the site otherwise blocks our reader, the company is stilllisted with a note, but we do not harvest or publish its individual products. We won't extract what a site asks us not to.
Corrections, claims and removal
If you represent a manufacturer and a record is wrong, incomplete, or you'd prefer not to be listed, write to vojta@furniture-components.com(see For manufacturers). We action genuine correction and removal requests promptly. Every product page also links a "Report a correction" contact.
Using our data
The catalogue is available as structured JSON via the API for people and AI agents. If you reuse it, please attribute furniture-components.com and link back to the source record.
